just waiting to be my canvas

I'm really excited about pottery. I can hardly stay in my seat to write this. But Rose write such great blogs from Lucknow, India, that I just have to try blogging for the first time in my life. Yesterday my friend Father Victor Sokolov gave me a book of Nicholas Roerich's paintings. I can already see my versions of some of Roerich's scenes on my platters -- horses leaping the Himalayas, warriors on horseback, camels passing yurts on a high plateau. I've heard Roerich traveled with his painting supplied by camel around the Himalayas. I'd like to. For now, I have a large wide bowl just waiting to be my canvas. Images of the paintings are already in sleeves in my Inspiration Binder, torn out from the old Russian book Father Victor gave me, now located right after photographs and sketches of my horses having fun. When I leave the Mendo College library and go to the pottery studio, I don't know if I'll be able to pick just one favorite image. My sister Julia is photographing border collies and cashmere goats in Wyoming for me. I think my November 19 show of pottery will be a good one. Got to go now.
